What is Online Counselling?

Online Counselling is counselling offered via email, real-time chat and video conferencing.  Online counselling has been found to be as effective as traditional ‘in-office’ counselling.  More and more clients are engaging in online counselling and finding it is better suited to their lifestyle, such as those living in rural or remote areas, expats, fly-in/fly-out workers on mine sites, oil rigs and in the maritime industry, and members of the defence force.

What are the advantages of Online Counselling?

  1.  Online counselling means you can access counselling from wherever you are, in Australia or overseas.  If I move or if you move, our sessions can continue because we are not limited by geographical location.
  2. Online counselling gives you the option to access a different counsellor if you are not successful in accessing the right counsellor for you where you live.
  3. You have the convenience of talking to a counsellor from your own home, which saves on travel time.
  4. Talking to a counsellor from within your own home can result in a greater feeling of ease for some people.
  5. Online counselling means you can access counselling if you have mobility restrictions, if you are too unwell to travel, or if you are busy caring for young children or elderly family.
  6. If you are working overseas in a foreign country, engaging in counselling with someone from your background can ease the difficulties that arise from language and culture barriers.
